Why Essential Rewards?
You may be hearing about the Essential Rewards program and asking yourself, “Why should I bother?”
Well, there are more reasons to jump onto the Essential Rewards program than there are Young Living products. That’s why everyone gets so excited about this loyalty program.
When you’re just starting out, though, it can be a little confusing, so I hope I can clear it up for you.
You’re going to get all your questions regarding Young Living Essential Rewards answered right here.
In fact, I’m going to break it down into the top five reasons to order products through the Essential Rewards program. I’m also going to show you why it’s better than purchasing retail, or even by simply placing an order as a Young Living member.
Now, please don’t worry; that member’s discount is always a good thing. After all, it’s 24% off retail price.
With Essential Rewards, you take it multiple steps further! You’ll start whittling that percentage down over the months, just by purchasing products you’d buy anyway.
It’s like having a membership at a big box wholesale club, only without the initiation fee!
You accrue Essential Reward Points, which are redeemable for FREE Young Living products.
First, Essential Rewards is a reward program Young Living offers to all its members when they start making purchases of product after their initial starter kit. Yes, the Premium Start Kits are wonderful. Whether you chose the starter kit with a diffuser, or with Thieves, or with NingXia Red, you’ve already made the best choice for beginning a new path on your wellness journey.
With Essential Rewards, Young Living simply makes it easy to fall in love with all the other products you are eager to try. How? They show you a way to earn free stuff. And who doesn’t like freebies in the mail every month? So the #1 best thing, IMHO, is that you begin to earn points.”Essential Reward Points” can be redeemed for free product.
Maybe you’ve heard a Young Living member say they only wanted to earn they monthly products for free. Well, this is exactly what they are talking about.
In fact, right now, I have about $300 in points that I can use to purchase just about anything my heart desires or my family needs.
See, every month, I replenish products we already love, and I pick a few we want to try for the first time. I have a regular list of products (daily supplements, cleaning supplies, personal care items) that we consume regularly. (Automatic shipments are yet another reason I love the ER program. But I’ll get to that later…)
Here’s a screen shot of my points and my earning rate from the Young Living Virtual Office.
As you can see, I can use $308.38 to purchase new product. (Young Living released so many awesome new products at Convention 2017, I’ll have trouble deciding, but I’m sure my balance will get spent soon!) I have to use at least $25.93 by March 15 of next year or else the points will expire and I will have lost out on a free bottle of, say, Lavender or Thieves cleaner. And I would never do that.
So there’s proof that you do indeed earn free product at a pretty good clip. I’m at the 25% point, which is the top tier of the rewards system. Every time I place an order, Young Living gives me 25% back in free Essential Rewards points… Sweet. Check out the purple timeline infographic for earning points back, below.
Next, you get convenience…
I don’t know about you, but every week of every month, I tend to buy pretty much the same things. Beans, Apples, Bread, Milk, etc. I have a grocery list I print out and keep on my counter with everything I frequently buy. There are some things that get replenished weekly, and some that get replenished monthly, but everything gets purchased on a regular basis.
By the way, I’m including my list here. [Click to view and download this all-purpose grocery list.] I call it the Dot Method of list-making because all you have to do is place a felt-tip marker dot next to each item you need. It’s way easier than actually writing each item. Plus, my kids are more likely to use it when something runs out, too! Let me know if it helps, or if there’s a glaring omission. (Obviously, if your kids are young, or your older relative lives with you, your list will look different from mine. It’s a good starting point, though.)
Well the same goes for Young Living products. I’ve reached the point where I walk right by the health, cleaning, and beauty products at Target or Walgreens. And I don’t even go to Ulta anymore, thanks to the new mineral makeup line Young Living rolled out last month. Yay!
When we run out of something, I simply drop the item in my Essential Rewards cart and I know it’s coming. Essential Rewards is a must for my household so I appreciate the convenience of regular shipments of my family’s favorite products.
Relax! Automatic monthly deliveries mean your products come to you.
Everything you must have on a monthly basis is already in your cart in Essential Rewards. Once you’re on Essential Rewards, everything comes right to your doorstep.
Besides the staples, you can also order some extra things you’ve run out of. Some months you might add a few items for gifts, or for seasonal fun, or just to help a friend in need. But the point is, you no longer have to shop at retail stores for things you need. Just pop them into your ER cart.
Total flexibility and autonomy over items in your shopping cart, your shipment date, and your shipping options.
To add to the convenience, you can change your shipping date every month if you need to. I like to get my order in by the 8th because then it’s staggered between the 1st and the 15th, AND whether it’s true or not, I FEEL better getting my order in the first half of the month. I’m not sure I get preferential treatment, but it’s more likely that something I really want and need is in stock each month if I get my order in. It’s a habit for me now, but rest assured, you can shimmy that order date around each month to meet your family’s spending and budgetary needs. It’s totally up to you.
Same with shipping. You can change your shipping options with each order, too. Two-day Fed Ex one month? No problem. Regular 3 – 5 day shipping the next month? That’s fine, too.
By the way, you get the best prices on shipping as an Essential Rewards member. Shipments start at $5.99. A decent discount… because every dollar counts!
You get rewarded for your loyalty at months 3, 6, 9 and 12.
Spend just $50 per month for consecutive months, and you get free gifts! Right now, they are Peppermint Vitality, Thieves Vitality, and Tea Tree Oil for the first nine months. Then after one year on Essential Rewards, you get a specially formulated oil created by D. Gary Young, just for us! Nice, huh?
The final huge benefits to being on Essential Rewards are the surprises you get in your delivery each month!
You get bonus products – free stuff! – just for being a member of Essential Rewards and spending at least $100 each month.
Now here’s another way you can earn free products just by enrolling in Essential Rewards.
Every month, your Essential Rewards order qualifies you to receive free products instantly, that very month! Yes, if your order surpasses a certain dollar amount, Young Living elves drop free stuff right into your box.
I kid you not. There have been months I wasn’t paying much attention to the freebies when I ordered. I just needed to get my monthly order sent in so I could get my family’s necessities. Then when the box arrived, I was like, “Hey, this isn’t right; I didn’t order this bottle. What the… Doh! It’s my ER freebies!!” (Then a little happy dance ensues right there in my kitchen.)
So when you get your monthly Young Living box in the mail, chances are you’ll get a few extra wonderful goodies for you to try for the first time, or maybe you’ll get a beloved favorite that you can add to your inventory, or something you can gift to a friend. It’s all good.
What is “PV” and why is it music to a Young Living member’s ears?
“PV” means personal volume, and it’s the way Young Living keeps track of how much product you are buying from your personal account. PV is one of the components of Young Living’s compensation plan, too. In order to receive a monthly check from Young Living, a member/business builder must purchase 100 PV in Essential Rewards every month.
The words “free PV” or “extra PV” are music to the ears of distributors, but for explaining why Essential Rewards is a fantastic rewards program, let’s just say that one (1) PV usually equals about $1.00. In most cases, if you put something in your cart that costs $25.00, you earn 25 PV Points. Are you with me?
When your order reaches about 100 PV, you typically get a free oil. When you reach 190 PV, you get a couple more oils. At 250 PV, you get yet another product. Often it’s something a little “out of the ordinary.” Then when your monthly Essential Rewards order reaches 300 PV, lo and behold, you get a really valuable free product, like a supplement, or a precious oil. As an example, video below shows July 2017’s Essential Rewards Bonus Gifts.
After Young Living processes your $300 order, you also get 5 free products. Suddenly the value of your order spikes! The retail value of all those freebies this month is $195.07. It’s a great deal for products that you probably would have (eventually) ordered anyway. Check it out.
Finally, there’s no commitment.
You never have to feel like you’re committed, because you aren’t! You can stop Essential Rewards anytime. You just pick up the phone and call call Young Living’s customer support and that’s it. No questions asked.
If you still have questions or some reservations about why Essential Rewards might not work for you, I’d love to help clarify the benefits. (You really can’t lose!) Just give me a shout at 512-351-3329 or email me at <<Jen at IntoOils dot com>>
